Perdue is on the Lycian Way, one of the world’s great trekking paths, and overlooks the Butterfly Valley, which has become a spiritual centre for enlightened back-packers. Also nearby is Kabak beach, one of Turkey’s hidden treasures, and, of course, there is world-famous Blue Lagoon.
You can take a dolmus to these sites, or charter one the local fishing boats to make the leisurely trip by sea. The hotel will provide you with a hamper for the day if you wish; local charges apply.
A little further away is the mysterious ‘ghost village’ of Kaya, a Greek settlement abandoned in the population exchange of 1926. The valley of Kayaköy is famous as the inspiration for Louis de Bernières novel Birds Without Wings.
